This species is found in the upper reaches of the Caribbean National Forest in Puerto Rico. It is not unusual to see plants in its favored habitat, however I had missed the blooming season several times. Last August I finally found a plant with flowers. In South America Dichaea are pollinated by euglossine bee, however there are no euglossine bees in Puerto Rico.

Thanks! I love going out and taking photos of native orchids but unfortunately I don't often have the time to do this.

LOL. Sometimes I wish I lived where there were native orchids I didn't have time to photograph.:;)
