Growing Areas
3 Attachment(s)
Thought I'd get this section started with a few photos of some of my growing areas.
The first is my Grand Cayman orchidarium. The second is the growing area in my bedroom. The third is a winter time growing area for plants needing a cool rest located in an unheated guest room. This set up is one set of shelving from Costco plus 4 additional legs and 2 cantilevered shelves. With this set up I didn't have to drill holes in the ceiling to hang the light. I open a window at night and turn a fan on to draw in the cold air. The room can get down into the 30's! The window gets closed in the am and a heater comes on for an hour to warm the room back up to 60F. |
nice collection in
the orchidarium - well done.

Great setups, Pook. Love that orchidarium. :)

Very nice, Pook...I didnt realize you can have the chids situated so far from the light fixture. Do you also have natural light on them too or is it enough?

Those are really cool !!!! Kind of like a little world unto themselves. ! Now where do you guys live ?
|
Bill, which set up are you referring to?
Greg, I assume you mean the orchidarium? |

This is where I grow my orchids, it is a 10' x 12' lean to green house I built myself,

Very nice orchidarium with lots of nice plants! How big is it?
Here's a picture of my grow area that I took last month... http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3330/...c1fab539b2.jpg |
Sometimes humor does not flow through the keyboard...or maybe there was no humor to begin with Pook! I was alluding to the appearance that your orchid hobby seems to have takenover the whole house and left precious little space for humans.

Greg, You're quite right about them overtaking the house! Fortunately it's a big house with a lot of southern exposure windows!
