looks like a face with a great hair-do.

what is this beauty? i photographed it at the stirling dickinson orchid garden here in san miguel de allende. i want to give them the name of this orchid. it is the size of a silver dollar.

alcohol and cinnamon?

can i use cinnamon and rubbing alcohol as a fungicide preventive on my orchids?
its raining cats and dogs and overcast and my orchids are all outside.

looks to me like the wrinkled leaves are a sign of improper watering. i have some of the same problems and have been watching my watering more carefully. i pot in a medium of lava rock...

another mystery

i know the tiny pale yellow flower is out of focus, but take a look at the structure of the plant. the cane is at least 2' long, the cluster of flower buds are 1"across and the little flower is 3/8"....

north, south, east or west?

i am putting my orchids out for the summer, which way do they want to grow? i want to make sure the new pseudobulbs are aimed in the right direction so i don't get growths all over each other....
