Default Incandescent Lights

Incandescent lights watt for watt produce at best 35 lumens of light per watt of input. That is the highest Quality money can buy. The regular bulbs you buy at lowes are at best 5-20 lumens per watt put in...maximum.

Fluoros's produce between 60-100 lumens per watt.

No incandescent bulb is more efficient than a Fluoro. Regular bulbs might "look" brighter, but that is usually because people stare at the center where the light is produced, whereas a fluorescent direct source looks spread out.

A T5 will put out up to 100 lumens per watt - very efficient.

T5 grow lights are some of the most efficient light sources in the world and depending on the CRI selected, can be extremely effective.

I have used all light sources for growing for many years and have studied the subject intensively.
