I wouldn't remove it...I have one that my knocked over and one of its leaves is split has been like this for about 6 months and put out 2 other new leaves but I am not removing it...I believe the plant still needs it, when it no longer does it the leaf will wilt & die... thats my thoughts for what they are worth !I would say that my new leaves are as firm as my older leaves with the exception of the ones falling off. How is your water regimen? How much(How often) fertilizer are you giving them? If you can post picks that is also very helpful.
