Hi Aaron and Maria -
Greetings from another West Virginian. Sherry and I live in the Princeton/Athens area at the other end of the Turnpike. We have gotten back into orchids after a many year absence. You mentioned wanting to organize a group. Let us know how that works. I guess there is a group in Roanoke, VA which is about the same distance for us.

Our orchid collection is currently housed in a shade house. They come into the house in the winter. After we took them outside, we had a few nights when the temps dropped into the 40's (low of 44°). As far as we have been able to tell, there have been no ill effects - even with the Phals. Most plants have new growths and several have flowered since the cold spell. Tougher than they are give credit.
