torn leaf on phal

Friends,
just discovered a torn leaf on a phal. the leaf is torn half way thru about 2 inches from its emergence from the crown. Being a 'fixer' I taped it! Looks like someone knocked it, or laid an arm on it...take a guess...I have a teenager and half the time the house looks (and smells) like the boys high school locker room.
Anyway, any chance the leaf will knit itself back together?
