Hello from the Hudson Valley, NYS. I would love to be able to grow orchids in my apartment but alas, every attempt has not worked. Instead, I spend most of my free time taking pictures of orchids and posting them up on Flickr.

I probably have a couple of thousand orchid photos on Flickr since I joined there just over a year and a half ago. I am not familiar with most of the names of the specific flowers but I am in love with orchids. I have photos from the Shore Orchid Fest in NJ, Longwood Gardens (PA) and NY Botanical Garden (Bronx NY) Orchid shows, Philadelphia Flower Show, orchids from places in Florida, growers, suppliers and anywhere I can find anyone displaying orchids. I just posted about 130 photos of Phalaenopsis from a local orchid farm here in the Hudson Valley.

If anyone has any suggestions on where to go within a few hours of Orange County NY to photograph orchids or help in identifying the flowers I have on Flickr that would be great. My flickr photos are open for anyone to look at. I don't do this as a business and only for fun and pleasure.
