Buds forming with no sheaths

I have a Blc. Taiwan Queen 'Golden Monkey' that is producing buds on 3 new growths but there is no sheath. Is this normal?

Sometimes it happens, yes. More in some hybrids than other, depending upon the species in the background.

Someone else is bound to be more knowledgeable than I on that subject.

I've had it happen from time to time, especially on older growths. Normal or not, if it's blooming, it's fine with me!

I've had buds appear with sheaths and without sheaths, both on the same plant. Go figure.

Same here. I have had bud formation with or without sheaths.
