Default Difficult to bloom?

I need to move again! Last two months, I donated some orchids to my local orchid club. I need to continue down sizing. I need to keep the truly cold tolerant and easy to bloom. I have several cattleyas that never bloomed. Are cattleyas difficult to bloom? Do they bloom annually?

I am considering donating the rest of my phals. The phals I purchase get bloom blast. The flowers quickly drop. The buds on the end of the spikes do not open. Probably because the humidity in my bedroom is low. Placing a tray of water underneath the carry tray of phals does not help.

If I put my phals outside for low 50's temperature to initiate spiking and then bring them inside, can phals rebloom inside a house without supplemental lighting and without a humidifier?
