Question ID questions +

Hi
I'm very new to orchids and am going crazy trying to learn so much!
I have (hopefully) attached pictures of 2 Dendrobium. I have possible identification of them, but would like some help. The purple one now has it's second leaf on the top turning yellow. What's going on? Forget the attachment thing. They are in my public album "Sam's Orchids"

Hi Sam.

Welcome to the wonderful obsession.

What you have can only be described as unknown hybrids, probably with a fair amount of "antelope" dendrobium in them. (I know little about dens, so maybe someone else can confirm or correct that.)

Getting an accurate ID of a hybrid is near to- if not totally impossible. With about 20,000 naturally-occurring species and almost a quarter of a million registered hybrids - and who knows how many unregistered - there is simply too much similarity to know for sure.

Thanks. Do you have any idea why my top leaves are turning yellow?
