Identification Help

Hello,

I was recently given this plant. The story is it was a gift to the previous owner from an orchid collector who said is was a rather rare specimen. Having spent time reading forums, websites and any photo that comes up Googling "orchid" I haven't found anything that looks like this plant. Perhaps someone here has seen something like this before? I'm suspicious it may not even be an orchid.

The only thing I know about the flowers is this one has bloomed once in the past 5 years. It was a white bloom which lasted about one day.

My primary interest in identifying this plant is to gain some insight into proper care. I'm rather fond of it, unfortunately I have nothing but the most general plan of give it food, water and light. That being said, it seems to be pretty happy so far. Perhaps it's not very particular.

That is a Cereus peruvianus.
I was trying to inset a photo from my computer but I keep getting a request for an URL!
I grow it in full sun here in Puerto Rico. It is a relative of the Dragon Fruit cactus.

Now that I'm searching in the right direction I'm turning up all sorts of useful information. I'm finding lots under Epiphyllum oxypetalum.

Glad to help. My sister has a large plant in her backyard which blooms frequently.
