This is the first time I have had this plant bloom two years in a row. What I learned is that it is very sensitive to fertilizer levels when on its growing phase. If you don't give it the fertilizer it needs to produce a nice large and fat pseudobulb, it won't bloom.
The flowers are bronze colored and the inflorescence is so large and massive it tipped the plant on its side. To take a photograph of the inflorescence I had to jam the plant against one side of the top of the cart with a heavy tree fern log. The photo of the flower shows the inflorecence "in situ".
My dream cross would be a Grammatophyllum x Cymbidium that would have the beautiful colors of standard Cymbidiums in a Gramm. elegans plant, and that would bloom in warm temperatures.
